UPDATE (march 28, 2009): Well, Nard made his own layout for his own parallel programmer. I didn't want to remove this post so that's the reason of the updates. Please, check Nard's page to see the new layout that he made. This is certainly working, you can be safe now. I apologize myself for making the post too earlier.

READ THIS BEFORE! (You have been warned): When finishing details of the pcb I encounter some shorts on the layout made by Simon. Please, check the news on Nard's page about that short I found, here's is a shot:

Well, Nard sent me a bunch of components to make his own Parallel Port Programmer (thanks Nard!). All was included in the package an even more. So, I decided to build a more proffessional PPPD (Parallel Port Programmer Dongle). For that, I went to Nard's dongle page and I downloaded the board pcb made by Simon. Take care on this, there's a new revision with an update on the pcb layout, but not in the pdf files. You can open the eagle files with the C2 issue fixed. C2 was shorted on the pcb in the older revision, and if you don't take care of that then you'll end up as I did. I built the pcb shorted and I realized that I needed to cut the copper to remove the short when mounting the parts. Be aware of that! Or instead, build pdf files from the updated eagle files.

This is another sequence of photos on how I made it. I hate using scissors. In fact, I hate anything that has to do with cutting. I'm the worst man cutting things. You'll see for yourself.

Also, I found a pills case useful for made a cover for the dongle! I removed all the plastic slots, I made some cuttings, and...voila! A fitted case for the dongle :)

The pcb I found was a piece of an abandoned project. But, I preffer to save resources!

Enjoy!
